How Can Hemorrhoids Be Treated?

I had chemo back in Oct 2013-May 2014. I ve had some effects from the chemo including hemorrhoids. I ve had two hemorrhoids procedures. First banding and then stapling. I still have bad external hemorrhoids. I ve not been able to get myself regular since the chemo. Do you have any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Both stapling and banding may cause recurrence. You can go for open hemerrhoidectomy which has got low recurrence rate. If the symptoms are mild you can go for conservative measures like laxatives and soft diet. If the symptoms are severe better to go for surgery. Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
