Hello,

As per your complain you have problem of more mucus in stool with diarrhea that may be because of gastrointestinal infection or other reasons. If these symptoms are present from long time then think about irritable bowel syndrome. Intestinal inflammation condition like ulcerative colitis or Crohn disease may be ruled out.

Consult a gastroenterologist for further diagnosis. Stool examination test and complete blood cell count are helpful to detect any infection present or not. Colonoscopy can be done if needed. Detail history and investigation give exact idea about problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rachana Goswami
