How To Treat Bruised Trachea, Neck Muscle Irritation, Continuous Cough, Trouble Breathing?

nullI have a heavily bruised trachea. Cold air, sudden movement, and turning my neck / using neck muscles irritates it and 1. I start coughing uncontrollably then 2. my windpipe closes so that I cannot breathe for 20-30 seconds. No other symptoms at all. How do I treat this?

Hi,

A sudden gush of cold air can cause laryngospasm which gives sensations of choking, coughing bouts etc.

This kind of episodes is also associated with viral upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).

So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Drink plenty of fluids orally.
2. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day.
3. Take levocetirizine and paracetamol combination.
4. Avoid hard to chew food. Avoid junk food.

Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 2-3 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
