Hello Dr, My baby got infected with bronchitis at age of 9. he was dehydrated and was hospitalized, Dr started antiboitic along with nebulization with medicine ventolin, clenil and aterment/atem . may be got better in a week and after 2 to 3 week nebulization process he was 100% well but as he is turn 11 he got infected again with, dr said its same sort of illness with some effect of pneumonia ( may be bronchiolitis ) this time, may be stopped taking milk , it was very difficult for us to handle, as we were worried of dehydration. then we use Salinase drop and he started taking diet. What i wanted to know, is it normal to get infected with such issues like we do with flu , cough etc? or getting infected again and again is an issue ? its not easy to find baby breathing very difficulty so i am very worried, please advice, what we can do avoid such thing later, do formula milk cause this. also dr this time started piriton syrup. Pediatrician 's  Response
It appears that your baby is 11 months old and not 11 years old. If this is correct, attacks of bronchiolitis are due to virus known as RSV and this can happen recurrently and even lead to childhood asthma. You should follow your doctor's advice and use nebulisation as often as needed to stop his breathing problems.

No one really knows whether food or milk can contribute to the problem as the major cause is the RSV virus and not milk. Do not change his milk unless you have had your son tested for milk protein allergy.
