How To Treat A Large Bump On Throat?

Hi, may I ask you a question? I am asmatic and i have been smoking for about a year and i also drink pretty much every weekend. I have a large bump on the entrance of my throat and im panicing if it is just a sore throat or if it is throat cancer? Could you tell? Thank you

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The large lump in the throat can be because of the peritonsillar abscess. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole (if you are not allergic). Even after taking medicines if the lesions does not subside then get it evaluated immediately by oral physician(since you are giving history of smoking and drinking).
