I took a cough drop a few hours ago and tried to fall asleep only to have the little piece that was left to fall down my throat. I tried to get rid of it by trying to cough it up. But when that failed, I waited for it to dissolve. After a few minutes I tried to cough it out again and throwing it up but that failed as well. I can feel it in the upper part of my throat so I tried drinking lots of water and even ate a muffin to see if it would go down instead of up. But that failed also. All this time I have been repeatedly coughing and swallowing and nothing is happening. Please help? I really just want to sleep.
