General Surgeon 's  Response
If the pain is from knee to ankle it might not be Sciatica. The visible nerves are more likely to be veins and then the problem can be Varicose veins which can explain both the problems. I would suggest that you should get a Color Doppler of the Venous system of that limb done to rule out Varicose veins or Deep vein thrombosis. Then after the test, we can decide what treatment should be done. What you should do is start Compression stockings Class II for that limb and Tab Daflon 500mg twice daily till the test is done. Do let me know the test result and I can guide you further.
Take care,
Dr Rishi from New Delhi.
