How To Deal With Insomnia?

Hello Dr Samuel, My name is Madhu, I suffer from insomnia for years now .. have never been on any kind of medication for that.. but of late also feel depressed at times. I have been recommmended Nexito forte. does it have long term side effects? how long can one take it

Welcome to HCM.
You have insomnia and slight depression. For that you have been prescribed nexito forte.
This medicine contains escitalopram (antidepressant) and clonazepam (sedative-hypnotic).
The tablet escitalopram can be continued till your depression resolves and six months after that.
The tablet clonazepam is usually prescribed for not more than 4weeks.

Your are taking a fixed dose combination of two drugs. I would suggest you to take two drugs separately as it would be easy to taper any of the drug individually as required.
