How To Cure Sharp Pain In The Pelvic Area And Hip Region After Intercourse?
I am a female 20 year old about 5'10 and weigh 130lbs. My medical history isn't anything out of the ordinary besides me having a cyst in my neck that had to be removed when I was 15 besides that just a few broken bones when I was younger nothing special. But recently about a week or so ago I was having sexual intercourse with my boy friend and I experienced this sharp pain on my right pelvic area a little above my hip bone and ever since I have had this dull ache that comes and goes. I have not ever had this before and I am starting to get concerned. On the other hand I might of just pulled a muscle or could be period pain? Please help clarify. Thanks.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. The few possibilities for this pain experienced by you are- a muscle strain, a ruptured cyst of the ovary, a cramp of the pelvic ligaments due to abnormal postures, infections in the pelvis etc. To clarify, you need a clinical appraisal since the pain is still persisting. Urinalysis, blood counts, a trans-vaginal sonogram are needed to come to a conclusion. The premenstrual pain is rather prolonged and not so sharp. Anti-spasmodic medication may be used to provide relief. Hope this helps.
