Hi there,

If using Voglistar (thiazolidinedione group) only together with exercise and diet changes (TLC), failed to improve your HbA1C lower than 9%; I strongly suggest to consult with your doctor (endocrinologist/diabetologist) again in order to start a new drug therapy.

I usually prescribe Metformin (biguanides group) to my diabetic patience at a dose of 500 mg twice daily together with TLC.

If no improvement within a 3 month time, then, I usually advise to take glibenclamide (sulfonylureas) as additional therapy for another 3 months.

If still no improvement, should start insulin therapy.

Hope it helped!
