How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Dear Doctor,

I am 36 years old. I have not had my period since June 2012. I also have not taken a pregnancy test since my periods are irregular. But recently I have experienced increased vaginal discharge and on and off spotting with slight cramps one day and no more cramps now. Could i be pregnant?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Urinary pregnancy test can be done and can be repeated after two weeks to confirm pregnancy. Also, a BHCG test can be done and repeated to see a rising titre, also, a transvaginal sonography can be done to confirm pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
