How Safe Is Hormonal Medicines During PCOS?

Dear Drs,
I am 25 years old. I have PCOS. Married, used to take Diana 35 and stopped last year November 2010.
My last period was April 2011 (except for some spotting in July which I don’t think was a period). My Dr prescribed Duphaston for me to get my period. Is it safe to take it?
She also prescribed Androvur for me to stabilize my hormones but I am really concerned about this one since I don’t like to take hormonal medications. What is your advice please?
Many thanks in advance,
