How Many Symptoms Of Menopause Should You Have Before Getting Hormone Therapy ?

How many symptons of menapause should you have before getting hormone theraphy? I have ecently had my uterus removed due to prolapse ovaries stayed. However I have been told that I am in men. I'm 51. I always wake up in the middle of the night even after taking tylenol pm. Body temp is much warmer than it use to be. Before removal of uterus I took birth control to stop my periods because of increased bleeding and longer periods.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is not a specific number of symptoms that must be present for hormone replacement to be prescribed.
It would depend on the degree of distress the symptoms are causing you and the absence of any factors that would prevent the use of the medication. If the symptoms are very distressing to you then you can speak to your doctor about replacement.

It is contraindicated in women with a history of :venous clot, liver disease, heart disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
It is sometimes also not recommended in women who experience:migraine headaches, personal history of breast or ovarian cancer, active gallbladder disease.
