How Long Does The Tongue And Nose Take To Regain Its Senses After Severe Cold?

I have had a bad cold since Wednesday. I am on my fourth day of a zpack and used afrin for 2 days. I am able to breathe through my nose today but I still can t smell or taste. How long will it be until I can smell and taste again? And could it be permanent?
