What Causes Severe Nasal Congestion When Diagnosed With Rhinopharyngitis?
Question: Yesterday I went to see the Doctor, and he diagnosed Rhinofarigitis infection.
He prescribed me Azitromizine, and Afrin for a week before going back to see him.
Today I woke up with my nose on total blockage. I apply the Afrin, and it eases a moment, and then i returns to full block. it makes difficult to rest, and i have cough.
Any suggestions to help with my congestion while I take the Antibiotics?

oral decongestants like pseudoephedrine will provide more sustained effects and will probably make you feel better. An antihistamine will treat the runny nose. A combination of those two drugs is usually sufficient for most patients to provide adequate relief to both runny and congested nose.
Loratadine and pseudoephedrine is an effective combination but other drugs of the same kind can be used. If you take the pill, you should avoid using the local decongestant too. Also keep in mind that while you're on your feet (and particularly if you're moving or being physically active) the nose congestion gets better. Lying down is the worst position for a congested nose. You should avoid using them if you have medical problems like uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease, etc.
As with any drug, remember to ask your doctor for approval because your doctor knows your medical history and the drugs you've used in the past.
