How Is Hashiomoto's Thyroiditus Treated?

I have Hashiomoto's thyroiditus (male, 63) and I am on Synthroid 150 mg. I seem to have developed chronic sinusitus (rhinitus). I am miserable -- lots of pain in sinuses below eyes -- its like someone is in there scrapping it raw with sandpaper and pressure. Makes me feel very tired as well as having to deal with the pain. No signs of infection from my standpoint. Steroid nasal sprays and antihistaines don't do any good, I have tried all of them. My TSH is in normal range for my age (below 2.5) levels (just checked). Allergy tests reveal nothing. Though I do seem to be sensitive to tree pollen, it is far past that season now. This pain/irritation has been going on for 5 months this time -- the only relief is with painkillers (ibuprofen or tylenol when mild to moderate), percocet when worse. I had sinus surgery 10+ years ago, corrected deviated septum and opened up sinuses.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
Hashimoto's thyroiditis is the most comen cause of hypothyroididtis.
The treatment for Hashimoto's thyroiditis is oral administration of thyroid hormones to maintain normal levels. You are tretment by Synthroid 150mg.
-Is this the right dose?

My advice is to meet an endocrinologist and to do the thyroid tests TSH,free T3 and free T4.
After the tests results your doctor will be able to do the dosage adjustment of Levothyroxine .
Another recommadation is the combined use of liothyronine (T3) and levothyroxine in an effort to mimic more closely thyroid hormone physiology.
-Is any relationship betwen chronic sinusitus and Hashimoto's thyroididit?
Yes for Allergic rhinitis and autoimmun thyroid disease.(Hashimoto's thyroididt is the autoimmun disease)
This is not happen at you , allergy test was negativ.
Thank you for using HCM.
Best regards.
