How Does Deviated Septum And Subsequent Mouth Breathing Affect One's Health?
An adult friend is considering surgery for a deviated septum which blocks one nostril and has caused her to breathe through her mouth since childhood.
1) Is it possible for one clear nostril to supply enough oxygen for the body?
2) Can muoth breathing be unlearned?
3) Will a deviated septum make one more prone to food and environmental allergies?
hello, thanks for ur query, deviated septum causes one sided block where another side will also block due to turbulent flow( human physilogy of nose) there by he starts taking breath through mouth which causes snoring and pharyngitis and respiratory infection. deviated septum will not cause any allergy but coexist allergy with deviated septum can create horrifying symptoms. hope I have clarified ur doubts. take care.
