My wife had two D&C s postpartum as a result of retained placenta. The OB told us he dug to the perimetrium digging out a fragment he diagnosed as placenta accreta. As result of his digging my wife developed ashermans syndrome. The OB did not catch it and it resulted in an infection as well as caused back flow into her abdomen. Subsequently she has acquired pulmonary AVM s (seen through cardiac cath & MRI; negative HHT) and autonomic dysfunction. There is a possibility of coronary spasms as well but not for sure. She had a hysterectomy which led them to find the ashermans. Post hysterectomy, she has developed multiple complex cysts ranging from 1ml to 8ml in volume as well as 1.2 to 2.1cm. Does anyone know how my wife s pulmonary AVM s and subsequently autonomic dysfunction as well as complex cysts developed as a result of asherman s syndrome? James
