Hello,

Swelling, pain, inflammation or stiffness of joints are indicative of RA. Visit ER, get physically examined.

Get tests for RA (CRP, anti-CCP, ESR) done. Get evaluated, get treated at the earliest.

Your treating doctor will give you NSAIDS, Analgesics or DMARDS (to slow the progression of arthritis & save joints).

Take antioxidants, vitamin C, garlic, Omega 3 fatty acid. Avoid sugars & refined carbohydrate, stay away from alcohol & tobacco, dairy, cut on salt & preservatives.

Exercises & daily walking should be done. You may take the help of a Physiotherapist.

Exercises make joints flexible & hence reduce the pain. Avoid a sedentary lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
