How Can I Stop Smoking Ciggarettes?

I have been smoking a pack of ciggarettes a day for a month. This was suppossed to be a temporary solution to overwhelming stress until I get to a psychiatrist for medication for depression and extreme anxiety to the point of having bad attitudes with others. Lately the ciggarettes are making me extremely weak to the point that I can hardly walk and feel like fainting.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Anxiety and depression are the risk factors to start any addiction. It is good that you are already under psychiatrist treatment for this.

To quit smoking, most of the time professional help is required. Commonly used treatment are in form of nicotine replacement therapy and anti craving treatment with medicine for short duration. You can request your psychiatrist to start this treatment in your case. Till that time reduce 1 cigarette every 3rd day on its own.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
