How Can Glaucoma Be Treated?

I have primary open angle glaucoma of both eyes - moderate stage glaucoma. I have been prescribed meclizine 25mg 3 times a day for benign positional vertigo. It states a major contraindication for meclizine is closedangle glaucoma. Can I still take the meclizine?

Hello, welcome to HCM. Yes, Meclizine does affect people with anatomically narrow angles due to its other secondary action over the pupils. Since you have been diagnosed and treated as Open angle glaucoma there shouldn't be any issues in continuing Meclizine. However if you are worried, you can always let your eye doctor know about your medication intake so he/she can monitor you accordingly. Hope this helps . Take care.
