Having Stomach Cramps, Bleeding And Sore Stomach. On Depo Shot. Is This Normal?

I've been on the depo shot since January of this year. I have spotting usually a month before I get my next shot. But last night I got woken up by the worst cramp I've ever felt and then heavy bleeding. It's been 5 hours since that happened and my lower stomach
is still sore.. Is that normal?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The mild intermittent spotting that you are having is a normal side effect of the depo shot. The sudden cramp and a heavy bleeding could be due to mild hormonal disturbance. If the bleeding persists then medical treatment is needed.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
