Have Severe Migraine. Took MRI Scan Twice. No Medication Now. What Is The Solution For This?
Hi , two years ago i had a brain MRI due to migraines which showed a non specific T2 hyperintense focus which lies in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Last week I had another brain MRI which showed the same spot but also a subtle subcortical hyperintense focus in the left frontal lobe. I have seen many neurologists as I am vey scared of this being MS. The report says that both non specific foci are not in a distribution typical of demyelination. I am losing my mind. 0pleas help
In both condition (Migraine and MS) clinical picture play more significant role while making diagnosis. If your neurologist is not making diagnosis of MS then you should not worry.
You may be having excessive health anxiety, which is making you to investigate (like MRI) repeatedly. It is better to focus on treatment rather than worrying.
For migraine you can start prophylactic treatment like with TCAs (amitryptiline). Same medicine also have effect on anxiety. During attacks of migraine you can take analgesics according to your physician advice.
trust your neurologist.
After your first MRI finding of rt frontal intensity ,in 2 years you have not developed fresh symptoms in any new area of body, likewise in left frontal lobe now no additional symptoms apart from migrain headaches. Why think of worse when a qualified neurologist is backing you?
