Have Seizures Often. What Should I Do?

I have recently been canceled my neurologist because they didn t know how to control my seizures I have been in search of another neurologist but no one seems to be available when I tell them of my medical history. I have seizures 6-12 times a day, now I have no neurologist and no medication and am scared. what should I do?!

Thanks for writing in.

Seizures are caused due to electric disturbances in the brain which trigger them. Seizures should investigated by doing EEG and brain scan (CT scan or MRI scan) and doing complete neurological examination. Please consult your doctor who can refer you for the above investigations and then get examined by a neurologist. A detailed history regarding the seizures is essential. Please have a close family member or friend around you at all times. You should avoid high risk activities like swimming, driving and operating machinery.
