Have Rash On Body, Little Itching. Used Benadryl And Cortisone Cream. Need Dermatologist?

Hi. I have a rash or hives that are on my legs, arms, stomach , back, and chest . My stomach and back are completely covered with tiny bumps. There are also many that are larger in size, fewer in number and pimple like in appearance. The larger ones seem to be mainly on my arms, legs, and chest. Not much itch overall. I have had this for 3 days and have taken Benadryl and over the counter cortisone cream with no improvement. Do I need to go to a dermatologist or just hang in there for a few more days?

Hi,
You are suffering from urticaria or hives in yourself. It is most of the times self limiting process. There can be mutiple causes of the same but some time we are not able to find the exact cause of the urticaria. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications. You can continue applying hydrocortisone cream and can take by mouth the antihistamine Loratadine or levocetrizine. If you do not find relief then can meet a dermatologist.
