Have Pancreatic Dysfusion, Cysts, Painful. Had MRI. What Can Help In Decreasing Pain?
I treat with a gastologist that I am satisfied with. I have pancreatic dyfusion. I have had sugery on my pancrease twice, I believe the tail and part of the body was removed because of cyst. I am getting to the point where a lot of foods cause pain in the upper right abdomine and upper right back. The doctors at U of M (Michigan) has the gastrologist keeping an eye on my pancrease by doing a MRI every 6-12 months. Is there something special I can do to help maintain the discomfort. I do not feel I am in enough pain to have it removed and deal with the consequences of that. I also have acromagely which is another issue in it self. Its a good thing I see the glass half full.
Hi and welcome to HCM,thank you for your query. You can take painkillers and change dietary habits, these are only possible remedies at this point. the last option is surgery but it can always be done. eat less fat food and more frequently in smaller meals. also avoid high sugar food and drink plenty of fluids. there are certain medicines which decrease pancreas secretion so consult your doctor about it,it is called somatostatines.. Wish you good health. Regards.
