Have Pain Under Right Breast. Is This Linked To Anxiety?

I m 17 a female and around normal weight, but for the last 3/4 of a year or maybe a little less I keep randomly getting pain under my right breast . It varies on how long the pain lasts and how much it hurts, I can go about my normal routine when the pain happens, it s just uncomfortable. Is this linked to anxiety? But even when I m not stressed I get the pain. What is most likely the problem?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

You are 17 and for about 9 months you are having pain in right breast. It also varies in duration and severity. You are thinking that it might be due to anxiety. But first of all I would like to advise you to visit a good Surgeon for evaluation of any surgical problem. If it comes normal then only we can think of any Psychiatric condition.
It may be a part of anxiety disorder or it may be a Somatic Pain. In some individuals due to some unconscious stress or unconscious unresolved conflict there occurs psychological pain. But this pain can't be expressed so it is expressed as Somatic pain. Management of Somatization disorder is also difficult. First of all proper evaluation of problem is done. Low dose anti anxiety drugs are given like Etizolam, Clonazepam. These drugs provide relaxation to individuals. Psychotherapy by a trained Psychiatrist is needed to get immediate relief. So if pain is really bothersome then visit a Psychiatrist.

Thanks
