Have Infection, Swelling And Discharge In The Eye. Have Been On Medication But Not Much Improvement. What To Do Now?

My 20 month old daughter starting getting a goopy swollen eye last Wednesday so we used her eye ointment from a previous eye infection called Fucithalmic Viscous Eye Drops and she got a little better, but then on Friday it was in her other eye. By Saturday the discharge was in both eyes and she looked like someone had punched her in the eyes. I have continued to use the eye drops since they are supposed to be applied for 7 days, as well as using a warm cloth to wipe away the discharge. I am just wondering if I should be using something different, or if her eyes could be a side effect from teething.

Hello
It seems from the history that your daughter is having swelling and discharge of the eyes and this is probably because of infection most commonly conjunctivitis.
She is prescribed with Fucithalmic eye drops and the eye drop contain Fusidic acid an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections.
But it seems that the infection is not responding to fusidic acid, you need to consider changing the antibiotic after consulting your eye doctor.
This is not because o side effect of teething.

Thank you
