What Is The Treatment For A Red Patch On The Tongue?

Hello, I have just noticed a bright blood red patch under my 9 month old babies tongue (well one on either side of his lingual frenum). He is teething and has just got his first tooth with the second one about to cut through the gum. He has recently had a slightly runny nose and mild temperature but doesnt seem to be in pain. He also chewing on a lot of things and may have bumped it. Is this just a teething symptom, could it be a strange bruise, or should i take him to the doctor? thank you.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

His symptoms could be related to a viral infection, which may lead to oral ulcers. For this reason, I recommend consulting with his pediatrician for a physical exam.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
