Have Folliculitis Of Scalp. Prescribed Doxy And Forcan. What Is The Dosage?

Hello Doctor,
I have folliculitis on my scalp, not any where else and prescribed to take Doxy-1 L-DR FORTE, 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening and Forcan 150, alternate days. My worry is that is that mandatory to take both this medicines or only antibiotic? Is there anything else or alternate ways to treat follicultis?
Thanks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
If it is simple foliculitis with no bacterial infection then no need to take the antibiotic, only anti inflammatory drug and the local antibiotic ointment will help you but if there is pus collection beneath the lesion then antibiotic is necessary, Amoxyciline would be the best than doxycycline,,, 500 mg amoxyciln three times in day , have nice day
