Have Discomfort In Standing And Walking In Old Age?

my mother-in law is 95 years old and is having extreme discomfort when standing and walking. She is being treated by a general practice doctor but not one specializing in elder care. Is there a benefit to being under a doctor who specializes in treating elderly patients?

Hi,
There is sure benefit of having expert advice in geriatric care.
But in this case your family doctor can give treatment as there is nothing special in her problem.
At this age ostroporosis and osteomalacia is common so give her calcium, Vitamin A and D supplements.
Ask her to go for short distance walking exercise.
Ok and take care.
I find this answer helpful
