Have Chest Pains. Hurts When Breathing, Bending. Right Shoulder, Neck Is Paining Now. Recommendations?

I've had chest pain on the right side for a couple of months now. It usually hurts for a week or so then goes away for a few days. It hurts when I breathe deep or bend a certain way. A lot of times if feels like something needs to pop. Last night my right shoulder and neck started hurting as well. My chest doesn't hurt today, but my shoulder and neck do when I breathe deep or bend down. What could this be?

Hello dear,

Chest pain can be caused by various reasons, including minor problem such as indigestion or stress, to serious medical emergencies such as a heart attack.

Investigations like X ray chest will be needed to detect any paathology in the Respiratory system & an Electrocardiogram or Stress Echocardiography can detect any dysfunction of the cardiovascular system.

Other causes of chest pain include:
1. Strained chest muscles due to overuse
2. Chest muscle injury
3. Short-term, sudden anxiety with rapid breathing
4. Peptic ulcer disease
5. Pain from the digestive tract, such as esophageal reflux

Even in the causes involving the digestive tract, pain gets referred to nekck & shoulder due to irritation of diaphragm & phrenic nerve.
So, it will be better to consult a Doctor & get a physical examination done to rule out other causes.
So that proper management steps could be taken.
