The test of virginity is most often done based on the presence or absence of the hymen which is a membrane covering the vaginal opening. However the absence of the membrane does not conclude that the individual is a virgin but its presence even partially confirms virginity.
The hymen is not the only thing that changes when one looses virginity; for someone who has been in a lot of sexual practice, the sexual response would be different depending on past sexual history. Also, the penetration is going to be a little easy unlike in virgins. During the first intercourse of most girls, there is usually a mild bleeding.
Well, whether your husband discovers it or not will depend on his personal experience, notions and on your sexual response during your first intercourse.
