Had Put A Cough Drop In The Mouth And Slept. Now Have A Knot Feeling In The Throat. Stuck In The Windpipe?

Hello at 1 this morning i put a cough drop in my mouth, if iv'e done this before i would wake up with some of it still there, but this morning there was nothing. My concern is i have a knot feeling in the back of my throat and slight pain in my chest and when i eat, going done i feel pressure in my chest. Im afraid it went into my windpipe and its stuck. should i go see doctor or will it just dissolve? i heard that if it did go to my lungs it could cause an infection.

Hi,

Usually any foreign body entering the windpipe will generate a violent cough; as you have not had any cough it is very unlikely to be there. You may be having associated acid reflux which could be manifesting as pain in the chest when you eat. Try using Tablet Ranitidine and see if it helps.
