Hello, 66 yr old- 5 yr post gastric bypass female having lab elevation for parathyroid l22...regular MD says wait and watch, levels have been stedily going up since surgery, having heat intolerance, balance issues, and had brain tumor removal benign 4 yrs ago, forgetting name of tumor, back of head, l lower ...(as you can see some forgetfulness too :)
Would you have your pt see endocrinologist for lab elevation? Thank you sorry to take your time, did not realize there was a charge for this service..

Your past medical history makes you deserve more critical medical attention at this point. Raised parathyroid hormones levels at this stage must be reconfirmed and evaluated for. the commonest source is a lesion in the brain. Some electrolyte abnormalities, especially related to Calcium metabolism could arise from this condition and cause even more serious health outcomes. doing blood Calcium and Vitamin D levels could aid in better ascertaining the intensity of the condition.
I think you are right to book an appointment with an endocrinologist.
