Brief Answer:
Safe. No need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that CCM (calcium citrate malate) is just another salt of calcium and is completely safe to be taken and suits all body types. You need not worry about cancer and stuff like that. Hypoparathyroidism involved low parathormone levels. This hormone is required for calcium metabolism. CCM will not increase the parathormone level but would reduce the negative effect of the hormone by increasing the availability of calcium.

Let me know if I could help further.

Thank you Doctor Saha.

Please further let me know whether i should follow a restricted diet as well. The doctor whom i have consulted here has said i can have regular diet.

Further, at the left hand side below the neck region, since two days I get sudden one-five minutes pain. Is it because of these calcium tablets since this tablet also increases the force of contraction of the heart.

Awaiting your response. Thank you !!

Brief Answer:
Further details needed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I do not think that you need specific dietary restrictions.

Could you please describe the pain and its location in further details? It is hard to understand based on the little description that you have provided. Pain can increase the heart rate and that is not concerning.

Good morning Doctor Saha,

Yesterday I did not take the daily dose of CCM tablet. Hence pain did not occur. The pain that I have felt earlier was just like a muscle cramp pain that happens or like a acidity pain that happens in the body. It lasted for maximum two to five minutes and disappeared. Again happened after an hour or so and disappeared.

The location is right below the neck left hand side of chest, but no where in the breasts.

Should i see the doctor who prescribed me the CCM tablets? is this tablet effecting my heart in any way?

Awaiting your response.
Thank you !!

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to gastritis or gastroesophageal reflux

Detailed Answer:
Good morning.

Going by the description it seems that the pain is due to gastritis or gastroesophageal reflux and CCM seems to be one of the precipitating factors.

In order to relieve yourself, you need to do the following:
* Avoid spicy food. Take small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps between meals.
* Avoid alcohol intake (if it a part of your habit).
* Take Omez (omeprazole) once daily before breakfast.
* Take plenty of green leafy vegetables as well as other sources of dietary fibers. Take fiber supplements like isabgol/psyllium husk or senna. I would insist you to increase your dietary fiber intake.
* Regular morning walk and exercise to keep the bowel movements proper.
* Take curd or yogurt on daily basis. It contains beneficial bacteria and should help.
* Stress reduction has a very important role to play. Yoga and meditation should help.

Hopefully that should help. I do not think that you need to see your doctor at the moment. The pain or the tablet does not seem to relate to your heart.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
