Had Dog Bite, Visible Blood Bite Marks, Cleaned With Water, Alcohol. Vaccination?
Hi
Today my 8 weeks/2 months old rottweiler puppy bite me while playing and i can see very small amount of blood bite marks. So i washed with water and cleaned with alcohol solution.Do i need to take vaccination for my puppy bite or just cleaning alcohol solution is fine.
It would be best to be vaccinated for rabies. You can consider vaccination for both yourself and your dog.
The vaccination for the dog would ensure that if he or she should bite anyone else they would not be at risk of rabies. The dog would be immune within 28 days of initial vaccination.
The vaccination for yourself would protect you from rabies now from this bite. Rabies is a serious disease cause by a virus transmitted from an infected animal. The initial vaccine is given on the day of exposure and subsequent vaccines on days 3, day 7 and day 14.
This would also ensure that you are immune against infection in case there are any additional episodes of biting.
You should consider visiting your doctor today for assessment.
I hope this helps
