Got Sun Burnt. Cannot Walk, And Need To Bent Over To Walk. Using Aloe, Ibuprofen. Purple In Color. Treatment?
Last Sunday I was on the river for about 10 hours with no sunscreen. I ended up getting a sever burn on my entire body, but especially my upper legs. It has been a week and I have been unable to goto work. I can barely walk and when I do walk I have to bend over. I have been applying aloe religiously and keeping my legs elevated as well as taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 5 hours. There is a purple color to my legs next to the redness. I have been staying hydrated. I feel like I am doing everything right but nothing is helping. I really need to go back to work on Monday but i feel like I wont be able too. HELP?
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic You seem to be having severe sun burns. A short course of steroid tablets for 5 days will help in quick recovery if you do not have any contra-indications for oral steroids. Local application of steroid cream containing an antibiotic will also help. Please get these prescribed by your primary care physician. You may continue pain killer and aloe. Ibuprofen dose you are taking should be reduced to 400 mg thrice a day. Hope this helped. Take care
