Given Percocet For Pain Relief, No Longer Effective. Advised Methadone. Any Alternative ?

I had spinal all surgery in 2000 since then I have been on pain management. My doctors have been giving me 4Percocet / day but it is no longer giving me the pain relief I need to carry out daily chores and care for my husband. I am 65and in fairly good health. My Dr said he can give me METHADONE but I do not want to go that high all at once. Isn't there a pain medication in between I can ask him . About ?

Hello,

I have studied your case.

Yes you start tramadol rather than methadone .
It is very good for pain relief with less gastric trouble.

You should visit physiotherapist to reduce pain medication.

If required MRI spine can be done.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
