Please cancel my inquiry. Thank you.
Jim

I fell 18 days ago on my right side fracturing a right rib #7 along with contusions to my right hip. Xrays and C scans showed no fracture to the hip area.Had lots of bruising down the hip into my leg. All the bloodly bruise has disappeared.. About a week ago a large soft lump appeared in the injured area of my hip. There is very little pain involved when touching that area What could this be? Should I be concerned?

Thank you
Jim

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

This is likely fibrous or scar tissue. When trauma occurs in any aspect of the body, there is the formation of scar tissue in the area.

Eventually as remodelling of the area occurs, the 'lump' or scarred area will decrease in size. As you stated, the area is not usually painful.

There is not usually any treatment for this.

I hope this helps
