Ectopic Pregnancy Removed By Laparoscopy, TB Pcr Positive. Taken HP Test. Get A Hysteroscopy?

hello doctor,
i had a right ectopic pregnancy removed in nov 2012 by laprosscopy. the other tube is normal. since then we did not try for conception. Now i was asked to take office hysteroscopy and tb-pcr test. the uterine cavity was clear. and tb pcr is positive. however the acid fast bacilli is not seen and smear test is negative. culture report is pending. i was directed to a physician who asked me to start with tb treatment. is this all necessary? another gynaecologist is suggesting me to take HP test which i do not know what it is (is it HPV) on the first day of my period. i am totally confused. Are we making it complicated? please suggest me in this regard.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Since the TB-PCR test is positive, the infection is present. The treatment of tuberculosis is necessary as it will cause fibrosis and considerably decreases the chances of conception.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
