Dryness And Lump On The Vaginal Lips. No STD. What Else?

Hello I have a concern, my boyfriend and I are both std free, and about two days ago one side of my top lip I experienced some dryness. I put some Carmex on it and then later that night I got a small bump on the center of my top lip. It doesn't hurt there is no burning or tingling. It's been two days the bump is still there although it appears smaller... It hasn't burst open I don't think it's a cold sore, I've never had one. Any insight would be awesome Thank you so much

Hi Darlene,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
The very first thing to tell you is do not become panicky about the problem it is not at all herpes (cold sore), as herpes infections are symptomatic with burning itching and pain sensation having multiple small blister appearing and bursting within 24-48 hours to leave raw area. It never manifest as single painless bump. Now the thing what it could be: it appears to be simple swelling due to injury on lip during kissing or self from own teeth also. This is also supported by the fact that the swelling is bit reduced in two days of time. Do not try to squeeze, pinch or try to burst the area as it may lead to further swelling or infection. If the swelling is increasing in size or becoming painful or multiple of other swellings are appearing then can contact us or consult a dermatologist.
With best health wishes,
