Does Thick Uterine Layer In Ultrasound And Missing Periods Indicate Pregnancy?

im 24years old.height 5.2. weight 140lbs. ive PCOS and on a treatment for that im taking glucophage.

ive missed my periods this month i had my last period on dec 12 2011. had a negative urine test for pregnancy. had a negative beta type blood test . ultrasound showed thick uterine layer. what should i do? am i pregnant??

Hi dear and thanks for your query.

If you have excluded pregnancy by urine pregnancy test and with blood BHcg test ,you have no chances to be pregnant.

Missing periods with thick endometrium or uterine layer while you are with PCOS may need to use progesterone .

If I was your follow up doctor I would recommend you to take duphastone 10 mg ,twice in a day for 5 to 10 days for breakthrough periods ,because if the thickened endometrium is not treated, over a long period of time it may turn into endometrial cancer.

Hence contact with your follow-up doctor.
