Does Taking Atorvastatin Cause High GGT Level?
What is the difference between atorvastatin calcium and atorvastatin? I took atorvastatin calcium for 4 years and my GGT was normal. But now I am taking atorvastatin because I am in another country and the doctor prescribed atorvastatin. While taking this, my lipid profile showed that my GGT is high (x 4 the normal values) Does taking atorvastatin affect GGT? Thanks.

Hello,
There are no studies that relates high levels of GGT with statins. It is possible but not sure. I suggest to do some analysis like ALT, AST measure the level of bilirubin in blood and make abdominal ultrasound to exclude other reasons. Stop using alcohol.
