Does Smoking Pot Contribute To Infected Tonsils?

Hi there- I have pretty infected tonsils and was prescribed antibiotics (amoxicillan first, then azythromycin second because the first wasn t strong enough). I m a pretty regular pot smoker and was wondering if that had anything to do with getting the infection and the risks associated with smoking while having the infection.

The most common causes of tonsillitis are bacteria and viruses. Smoking does not cause it directly. Smoking reduces the body immunity due to which viruses and bacteria can attack easily. Smoking also cause irritation of throat .
