Does Sleeping With The Mouth Open Cause Any Problems?
An ENT told me that children should not snore or sleep with their mouths open. My daughter does both (as well as my husband). Why is this? I am concerned that she may be not getting enough sleep due to discussions with a GP. How would I know if she is not getting enough sleep? She is tired most afternoons but I thought that was normal for her as she is very active.
problem of snoring and mouth breathing in night might be due to increased size of adenoids. which is a common finding in many children. good thing is it mostly improves with age. but in few children it persist and may cause dental malformation or recurrent throat infections in them removal of adenoids through surgery is advisable. you may consult your ent doctor again and discuss this issue.
