Does Ovarian Cyst Cause Intermittent Pain In Ovaries?
I haven't had a period in almost two months. Recently took several hpt's that were all negative with the exception of one that had a faint second line. I have read that it could have been defective so I'm not taking too much stock in that. I have been sick with flu like symptoms on and off the last three weeks, sore all over, tired, etc. I was having intermittent pain in my ovaries a couple weeks ago and I thought I might be ovulating but now I'm not sure. Could be a cyst? I have been off the pill for over a year and bar had regular periods since. I know stress can be a trigger but honestly I've always been busy and never has an issue like this. Can't get in to doc for a couple weeks and just wondering..

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi thanks for using HCM.
With history of delayed period first I would like to rule out pregnancy through blood HCG test as urine test is not accurate.
Once pregnancy is ruled out, common cause would be hormonal variations. Consult gynaecologist for examination and prescription of medication to start periods. Pain in lower abdomen may or may not related to ovary. ultrasound abdomen will helps to see state of ovaries.
Regards
