Does Hernia Prevent A Teenager From Developing Through The Process Of Puberty?

Hi Im Mr. Anonymous, Just want to ask about hernia s. Does hernia prevent a teenager from developing through the process of puberty? Especially the development of sexual organs. I have a serious complicated problem in over my whole life. I m 23, my penis size is about 1 1/2 or 2 inch when flaccid 1 or less than an inch in width, when erected it is about 4 inch in length and 1 inch or more in width. The size of my testicles are too small about 1 inch in height and less than an inch in width. With this information, I may conclude that I have undeveloped sexual organs. If I would have an operation for my hernia, will it be helpful for my undeveloped sex organs? Or maybe experience some changes? Thank you...

Hi,

Hernia will not cause delayed development of sexual organs. It is important that if you have overall restricted growth then consult an endocrine specialist and get evaluated for your pituitary hormones including growth hormone. Thyroid hormones can also be assessed at the same time. This will show if you are having a generalised growth problem or not.

If your pituitary and thyroid hormones are normal then you can also get testosterone levels done.

If you do not have any hormone disorder then it is better to consult urologist and get your testes and penis clinically examined. To me it sounds that your sexual organs are normal in size. The penis is to be measured from bulb to tip and I hope you have measured it properly.
