My husband has sinus pain after a cold which has lasted two weeks. He took Sudafed for a week but when he stopped them his symptoms returned. Now he's only using ibroprofen. Should he restart sudafed? Or will this just prolong the recovery process?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain as your husband seems to have sinus infection leading to pain and congestion and as sudafed contains Pseudoephadrine that is a decongestant it helps in relieving congestion.. You should not only take sudafed but also consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and he can also advise you to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, do steam inhalations, saline nasal irrigations and also steroid nasal sprays.. Avoid chilled foods and exposure to very cold air.. Do warm compresses around the nose..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
