Hello,
Metformin does help in loss of weight but is not the medicine for weightloss.
Unless and until you do regular aerobic exercises for 45-60 minutes a day and observe proper dietary Control by avoiding sweets, junk foods, fried and fatty foods and colas, metformin won't help you.
In addition get yourself tested for hormonal imbalances like hypothyroidism because that can also cause increase in weight.
It seems you are suffering from PCOD because metformin is the favored drug to reduce insulin resistance found in PCOD.
Thanks
